DE COMPRA E VENDA DE MÓVEL ) .This is an offer to purchase the property with down payment deposit with the intent to purchase the property in a given time frame for a fixed price. A deposit is required on the day the contacted is signed.

A Portuguese lawyer or notario to handle the legal aspects of the purchase. They will draw up a purchase contract (CONTRATO PROMESSA DE COMPRA E VENDA )and procuro (Power of Attorney ) document to start process to register the property. This is done to obtain a Portuguese taxpayer number (NIF) from the local tax office, as it is required for property ownership and various administrative processes.

Legal and Financial Procedures:

Then on a set booked date with the Notary office the property is registered into the name of the new buyer of the property.Also proof of payment is presented. Or payment is settle in full with the presents of the Power of Attorney( Procedure in Portuguese). This could be the person presenting the buyer in Portugal.

Completion and Registration:

On the day signing and the paper work is submitted to the local authorities and property is registered in the new owners name and taxes are paid for transfer of the property. Then only is in about 4 weeks everything is concluded.
